TRAINING QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE IN NEURORADIOLOGY

For the last 27 years I have been working in the field of Neuroradiology starting as a Medical officer and now heading the department of Neuroradiology in the capacity of Chief consultant Neuro radiologist at one of the largest Government hospital in a thickly populated city of Lahore. I have been primarily trained in general Diagnostic Radiology as I have earned Diploma in Medical and Diagnostic Radiology (DMRD) and Member of College Physicians and Surgeon (MCPS). I have attended various short courses and clinical attachments in the field of Neuroradiology, mostly in western European countries including prestigious institutions Radcliff Hospital, Oxford and National Hospital for Nervous Diseases, Queens Square. After getting exposure in Intervention Neuroradiology, I started performing Neuroendovasculor procedure in Brain & Spine including head and neck which was introduced in Pakistan for the first time.

Since   1990 I have been performing g the following:

  • Cerebral and spinal Angiography
  • Myelography  Lumber Route/Cervical Route
  • Discography
  • Reporting neuro Doppler C.T. Scans and M.R.I
  • Transcranial Doppler (TCD) since 1994
  • Teach Under/Post-Graduate students of King Edward Medical College. Fatima Jinnah Medical College and Post-Graduate Medical Institute.

Since   2000:

  • Neurointervention Procedures like Presurgical embolization, venous malformation Eo
  • Ballooning Carotid Cavernous Fistulas (C.C.F), Aneurysm Coiling, Carotid Stenting, AVM & DAVF Embolization, Flow diverter  (FD)
  • Non Surgical Treated back-ache (Sciatica) & Cervical disc (Brachalagia)
  • Administrative and professional supervision of a staff of forty people including junior neuroradiologist, Medical Officer, Residents and Para-Medical staff
  • Coordinate with Neuro Trauma Center for emergency C.T Scan reporting and performing Angiography.

Since   2015:

  • Acute Stroke Management
  • Mechanical Thrombectomy
  • Aspiration / Stent Retriever

APPRAISAL & AUDIT

Last Appraisal/Evaluation of performing done by Dr. M .Usman Ghani in 1999 as Head of Department given to me was EXCELLENT on the basis of my professional and personal conduct in terms of diagnostic procedures and administrative handling of the departmental matters. My professional Knowledge was marked as up-to-date with latest technologies and techniques used today in developed countries. I have been continuously attending international course and meeting and updating my professional knowledge in the field Neuroradiology and this had been rated as a strength for my department by my supervisor.

I tend to publish articles in National and International Journals, regularly attend national and International professional conferences, seminars, course and meetings, Network with fellow professional around the word through information technology.
